BIOGRAPHY
For Asier Elias, music has always been a source of joy and a welcoming refuge—a space to explore, create, and connect with others. A Basque drummer recognized for his versatility, distinctive sound, and adaptability across genres, he approaches both performance and teaching with curiosity, care, and a genuine desire to help others discover and develop their own musical voice.

He began playing drums at the age of eight, and over the years his musical journey has taken him through rock, blues, jazz, latin, world music and Basque popular music. Asier has performed across Europe at festivals such as the Sziget Festival in Budapest, the Mundaka Festival in Spain, the Suns Europe Festival in Italy, and the Singapore Night Festival, as well as aboard Regent Seven Seas cruises. These experiences have strengthened his adaptability, broadened his musical perspective, and taught him how to connect with audiences in a wide variety of settings.

In 2017, Asier completed his degree in Jazz Drums at CSMN, graduating with distinction for his final concert performance. He then earned a Master in Secondary Education, reflecting his dedication to teaching and mentoring young musicians. He continued his studies with a Master of Music from the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen, The Netherlands, which included an exchange in New York City and the invaluable opportunity to study with renowned teachers such as Ari Hoenig, further nurturing his artistry and musical vision.

Teaching is central to Asier’s work. He enjoys guiding students of all ages and levels, nurturing not only technical skill but also creativity, confidence, and personal expression. For him, music is more than performance—it is a tool for connection, growth, and exploration. Whether on stage, in the classroom, or on the road, he approaches every opportunity with humility, openness, and a love for helping others.
